Magnesium Chromate, MgCrO4

Magnesium Chromate, MgCrO4.7H2O, crystallises in large transparent prisms isomorphous with Epsom salts. It becomes MgCrO4.H2O at 130° C. Yellow crystals of MgCrO4.5H2O, isomorphous with copper sulphate, were obtained by crystallisation above 30° C. Water partly decomposed them.
