Magnesium Hypophosphate, MgPO3
Magnesium Hypophosphate, MgPO3.6H2O, is precipitated by normal sodium hypophosphate from a solution of magnesium sulphate as a sparingly soluble, fine, crystalline precipitate. It dissolves in acetic acid containing a little hydrochloric acid, and MgPO3.12H2O is obtained by concentrating the solution. It becomes the hexahydrate at 200° C.
